Activists from around the world joint for the First Fashion Revolution Day on 24th of April 2014. Exactly one year ago, the Rana Plaza building collapsed in Bangladesh and led to more than 1100 dead and several thousands injured. The first fashion revolution day had the motto “Who made your clothes?” and people from around the world posted selfies with #insideout worn clothes to create awareness for the people who make the clothes.
Today, the European Parliament adopted the long-awaited directive on the disclosure of non-financial and diversity information by certain large companies.
The German minister for development said to the “Welt am Sonntag” that they are working on a new textile standard for sustainable garments which is planned to be introduced within this year already.
