Disclosure of non-financial information soon mandatory for large companies in EU?

On February 26, 2014 the European Parliament and Council reached an agreement on Commission proposal that certain large companies in the EU should need to disclose certain social and environmental information in their management reports. The original proposal covered approx. 18.000 European companies, the new agreement applies only to large companies of public interest (mainly listed companies and financial institutions) and thus approx. 6.000 companies in the EU which need to disclose their non-financial performance according to Germanwatch.
